Open Wound for Six Years

Medical Volunteer Story from Sarah

Today was such a rewarding day. This morning the team departed to go to the Merenai village to do a medical clinic. In total, we were able to see over 120 patients and tend to each of their medical needs. We treated wounds, respiratory distress, and vision impairments. One case that left an impression on me was the first case we had. It was a mother who had an open wound on her ankle for over six years. Her wound was infected down to the bone. She sold her house trying to get the money to pay for the medical expenses, but it still was not enough. She came to us looking for hope, and we were so excited to give it to her. We referred her to come back to see us on Monday so we could further treat and help heal her wound. She was so grateful for the care and help that Hope Ministries was able to provide for her health.
