Surgical Volunteer Story
Today was a surgery day. Michaela was able to observe a lumbar spinal surgery. Spinal surgery is incredibly complex, but the doctors with Hope Ministries did an amazing job completing this surgery safely and efficiently. Not only did they complete a successful surgery, they were also great at educating Michaela throughout the entire surgery. She was also able to successfully insert a catheter today as well which was a huge learning accomplishment. All of us students are thoroughly enjoying the opportunities Hope Ministries has been providing us to learn so much medically and practice our own medical skills along the way.
