PILLOW CASE DRESSES

These are some sweet little girls that live at Light in Africa Children’s home. Marcella Buum and the ladies at Dalesburg Lutheran church made these sweet dresses out of used pillow cases. They were so excited to receive them! Here it shows them trying them on. The next day when I was not there all the girls very happily dressed up in their new dresses and the smiles that these dresses brought was priceless. Thanks so much to all the ladies that made these. They were loved and appreciated so much.

VISIT TO HURUMA SCHOOL OF NURSING

We had the pleasure of visiting Huruma School of Nursing in Rombo, which lies close to the Kenya border. I love this place and the nuns put on quite the welcome party for us. This is the school where I bring the Northwestern College Nursing students, who will travel with me again this May. I carried many needed nursing and medical books that were donated by NWC. We had meetings to discuss the May itinerary and got a list of supplies and textbooks that are needed. The staff at the school and hospital are so grateful for all that we do for them.

OUTREACH CLINIC & MEDICAL SUPPLIES

We attended a medical clinic in which we talked to the doctors about what needed medical supplies that they needed. Thanks to the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point, SD which donated 96 first aid kits and other medical supplies that contained the many things these doctors needed. We also sponsored an outreach medical clinic in which we offered free medical services and medications. A local physician, nurse, Lee and I saw over 133 patients that day. Again thanks to everyone who donated for this trip. Your donations paid for this clinic and assisted so many poor people who cannot afford the transportation or funds to get medical help. The stories and cases we saw were so sad and yet they were provided HOPE. Again the first aid kits were so helpful. We have no idea how lucky we are!

FEEDING CAMP

Mama Lynn sponsored a feeding camp in a very poor village. She provides one meal a day for 5 days. She had run out of food so Hope Ministries sponsored a feeding camp. Again thanks to all the donors who made this possible. What a blessing this is for all these children. It is not a fancy meal but one that provides the necessary nutrition they need and takes care of the hunger pains. Thank goodness for people like Mama Lynn and sponsors of Hope Ministries that reach out and help these special little children.
