{"id":2980,"date":"2018-06-01T12:04:30","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T17:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hopeold.tadtime.dev\/?p=2980"},"modified":"2018-06-01T12:04:30","modified_gmt":"2018-06-01T17:04:30","slug":"friday-june-1st","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hopeministries.co\/friday-june-1st\/","title":{"rendered":"Friday, June 1st"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, June 1st<\/p>\n<p>Hi is is Gayle again. \u00a0Well as I awoke early to get all the bags packed, I was saddened to think that we would have to say our goodbyes today and would be departing to go back to Arusha.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Mark and I headed to the hospital and started our day listening to AM report.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We then held an evaluation meeting to review and hear how our visit went this past week and what we can do different next time to improve.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I was touched by the gratefulness expressed by the surgeons and residents.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As Mark and I told them we learn more from them and have enjoyed how warm and welcoming they have made the team members feel while we were there.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I always enjoy my time at Bugando Hospital and have made so many special friends there.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We then said out good-byes and headed to the airport to fly back to Kili airport.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are sad because Mark will be leaving us this evening and heading home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I can\u2019t say enough about what an awesome teacher and surgeon he is.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I really enjoy working with him and he has really impacted the health care in the many visits that he has made to Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2981\" src=\"https:\/\/hopeold.tadtime.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/9FA386E7-EC65-475C-916D-98E09304C0AA.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><\/p>\n<p>(Here is the Hope Ministries team as they arrived at the airport from Mwanza and had to say good-bye to Mark. \u00a0Wishing him a safe journey and grateful for all he did to help these people here. \u00a0He touched many lives).<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the team was allowed to sleep in and we met them at the airport.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>All the team was anxious and happy to see Freeman and Faraja at the airport, which are Hope Ministries drivers.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A few challenges as our plane was delayed by one hour and then when we arrived at Kili airport three of the people\u2019s luggage did not show up.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Poor Mark Wheeler is heading home to the states this evening and he did not receive his bag, so it is being shipped to the US. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s pray it gets there. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The team was anxious to return home to Ahadi Lodge and get a warm shower.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Now we prepare for our last couple of days in Tanzania. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Carol\u2019s devotion this evening was about being grateful and providing thanks to God amid the many challenges we were faced with today.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>That we all need to focus and be thankful for the many blessings that we have all received on this trip. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, June 1st Hi is is Gayle again. \u00a0Well as I awoke early to get all the bags packed, I was saddened to think that we would have to say our goodbyes today and would be departing to go back to Arusha.\u00a0 Mark and I headed to the hospital and started our day listening to &#8230;
