Sunday, January 11th

HI this is Mama Gayle.  The team has been really busy in outreach clinics.  The needs of these people is unbelievable.  Many came to our clinics because they were suffering for years and did not have any access to health care and/or money to pay for help.  There were many cases that brought tears to the teams.  I thank God for being born in the US and able to have access to great health care.   It is unbelievable what they have had to bear.   Dr Alex will be seeing many with malformations and we will do surgery to correct the deformities.  Their lives will be free of pain and now have a chance of life.  Thank you God for sending the people that you know needed our help.  We are referring a total of 97 patients: (22 orthopedic, 45 general surgical, 3 Peds, 2 internal medicine, 7 for eye clinic, and 18 OB/GYN ).  Please pray that we can help them.

Poor Dr. Alex arrived last night off of KLM and the poor guy did not get his luggage so he had a cultural experience of shopping for some necessities.

On Sunday the team went to ALMC Community Church, which is where missionaries attend when in Arusha.  We met some wonderful parishioners who were interested in what Hope Ministries is doing.  The team then tried some Tanzanian barbecue for lunch.  The team went to the market to get food for hospice visits this week.  Rice, beans, cooking oil and Ulezi protein powder to provide extra nutrition for the various disease states they may be in.  We ended the day eating supper together and going over the schedule for Monday.
