A Surgical Story from Gayle:
Today the medical team was at Bugando Hospital for multiple surgeries.
We had a very heartbreaking case come in today. A young mother was transferred in from another village. An intruder broke into her. She did everything she could to protect her children from any harm. While she was guarding them, the intruder hit and kicked her in the head and then took a machete to her arm. She was able to call for help with just enough time, and she was immediately rushed to the hospital. We went straight into surgery and were able to place quite a few screws and wires. At the end of the surgery, were able to successfully help her arm for her to have mobility again.
