If we only get to know you, Lord. If we only get to lean into Your love, comfort and endurance, it’s there Your Love shall be. May we not box You in to only seeking You on a Sunday or just reading our daily Scripture, but may we also get to know You through expression, through boldness, through people, through love. May we know You through sunrises and sunsets, through birds and magnolias, through creativity and play in both children and adults.
For You’re not just in one Book or one Sunday each week. No, You are in it all, Lord. From the in between moments to the birds and the skies, to the orphans and the widows that we serve amidst the heartland of Africa. It is there we may find You. You’re in the sea, the art, and the music.. You are in our patients, in our coworkers, in both Africa and The States… There we may find You. There You shall be. And if we, for one second, unintentionally place You back into this tiny box of our own earthly doing, may You humbly grant us Your Grace, Love and tender Mercy. May You humbly guide us back Home to the Truth to see that You are the Creator and Doer of all things present and all the things to come. You are so much more and so much bigger than the amazingness of just two simple acts. You’re in it all, Yahweh.
May we, at Hope Ministries, continue to find you in the fatherless children that we serve. May recognize You in the faces of the homeless and poor that fill the streets in Africa. May we celebrate You in all the patients and workers that we encounter each year. And may we see You in more places than one even on this day, Abba.
It’s You that we serve. It’s You that we love. It’s You whom we hope.
