When we find ourselves wrestling with life’s brokenness and hardships once again, we can come back to these verses in Matthew and remember that our God is One who will not lay anything heavy or ill fitting on us. He doesn’t turn us away when our emotions and struggles run immensely deep. He welcomes us with open arms and promises that even amidst the hardship, even amidst our failures, He can and will still give us a powerful freedom, an unexplainable lightness and His never fading, joyful presence.
