A Volunteer Story from January 11, 2022:
Today the team was at Bugando Hospital and on their feet for almost eleven straight hours! We had three spinal surgeries and a lot of educational moments. Our day kicked off with Steve being able to jump in during the hospital’s morning report and correct an x-ray misinterpretation of a fracture that was actually a growth plate. Steve was able to educate the hospital employees about how to differentiate the two. His teaching continued throughout the whole day, and every person there was able to learn so much important information. At Hope Ministries, education is one of our biggest goals on our trips. Education is sustainable and allows local Tanzanians to continue to practice accurate medicine when we are no longer there.
