A Volunteer Story from Karlie –
Today we headed to a children’s center to cook a meal for over 100 children.
We were able to have a Bible study with the kids and provide each of them with a Bible that we had made in both English and Swahili. After we read the story about Noah’s Ark (which Julius translated), it was amazing to hear the kids’ questions and discussion about the story.
Later in the afternoon, we played outside with the children. Many of the children were orphans, some were HIV positive, and most were wearing some of the only pair of clothes they had. Despite their current circumstances, they contained so much joy and love. It was humbling to witness first hand the amazing view of life they had.
Tonight we are thankful for the beautiful smiles of the grateful children, the lovely people of Tanzania, and God’s grace and constant protection over our team.
