Surgical Story From Mama Gayle
Today we encountered a beautiful 12 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy who had been in a terrible motorcycle accident. The accident severely injured his heel, and he completely lost all flexion and extension of his right foot. Today he came to surgery, and he was visibly terrified as he looked around the surgical room. As we did our best to comfort him, we were abruptly informed that he could not have the surgery due to lack of payment. Hope Ministries evaluated his surgical needs and cost, and we decided covering all of his surgical fees was the right thing to do in this moment. We were reminded that life is a gift, and when you have the opportunity to help make a difference in someone else’s life, take it.
