June 15th
Happy Sunday and Father’s Day everyone! Here, in another day in the beautiful county of Tanzania we had the opportunity to celebrate church service in a beautiful church in the city of Arusha. We were able to meet and greet with different missionaries from around the world including Sweden, South Korea, the States, and many more different places.

Due to it being Sunday, a rest day, today was much more relaxing day compared to the other days we have spent here in Tanzania.
The day, as mentioned, started off going to a church service worshipping with other believers. After the service, our drivers took us to a delicious restaurant where we spent almost three hours talking, laughing, and enjoining the delicious African cuisine.

Following the lengthy stay at the restaurant we then took a short drive to the city market where we set out on a mission to buy food for tomorrow where we will visit those who are in hospice. The trip to the market was a “cultural experience” to say the least. When we first got to the market the traffic was “rump to rump” as one may say. After a lengthy time of trying to park we finally were able to exit the vehicle and get swallowed up into the main culture of Tanzania. We saw so many things including HUGE avocados, deep red tomatoes, okra (like an asparagus), meat (every single part of the cow), potatoes, beets, peppers, onions, rice, limes, spices, and so much more.

After wandering around in the market for a while we found the same man that has sold “Mama G” (Gayle) the supplies for hospice year after year. After a lengthy time of negotiating we finally purchased the items, brought them to the car, and headed back to the hotel.

Once we got to the hotel each one of the team members called their loved ones, enjoyed the hotel grounds, and conversed about the activities of the day.
We hope you all of a lovely and restful Sunday! Sending love from Tanzania and Happy Father’s Day!
