Jambo (hello), today was such a rewarding day! Alex and Jean arrived safety today so now our whole team is together. This morning the team departed to go to the Merenai village to do a medical clinic. In total, we were able to see over 120 patients and tend to their needs. Some of the common cases we saw were wounds, respiratory distress, and vision impairments. One case that left an impression on me was the first case we had. It was a mother who had an open wound on her ankle for over six years that was infected down to the bone. She sold her house trying to get the money to pay for the medical expenses but it still was not enough. She came to us looking for hope and love and we were so excited to give it to her. We referred her to come back to see us on Monday so we can treat her further. Reflecting back on that case it makes me very thankful for the healthcare system we have in America. I often take for granted the help we have so readily accessible for us. Being that this was our second medical clinic, the team felt more confident with the assessment and the care that we were providing.

After our medical clinic, we went back to Boma to grab our bags, and then we left for Arusha. It was about an hour drive and we were able to see the daily life of the Tanzanias on the way there. We currently are staying at the Ahadi Lodge which is absolutely beautiful. They have amazing food and the service is top notch.

We are so thankful to be here and are excited to be serving the people of Tanzania. We see God daily and feel his presence in the work we are doing. We are thankful for the support we have at home and can feel your prayers.

With love,

Sarah
