imageHello all! It’s been awhile since our last blog because of wifi connection problems, so I will do my best to summarize the last few days.

Sunday was mostly a day of rest. We did spend a little time with the kids before the church service. One of my favorite parts of the trip so far has been to watch the kids sing during church services. They sing with their whole hearts, and it is a breathtaking site.

Monday and Tuesday we played with the kids and finished our projects. We finally finished weeding the big garden plot and surrounded it with rocks. It felt good to complete that project.

On Tuesday night we packed up our stuff, picked up Mama Gayle at the airport, and headed to Arusha. It was hard to leave the kids, even though we will be back to Light in Africa in 10 days. Now our group is staying in a beautiful place in Arusha, that is Mama Gayle’s friends place. We spent the day exchanging money and going around the town of Arusha and then to the Maasai market for a very cultural experience. The people there are so desperate to sell their goods to feed their families, so it is hard to say “NO”.

We got to have a cultural experience by going to an outdoor barbacue that had pork and chips, which was really good. While we were sitting in this place, we witnessed a young boy, around 10 years old, walking his blind father from table to table to ask for money so they could get food to eat. It was really sad to see and once again God has humbled us to remind us how blessed we are that we live in America.

God Bless,
